Say what you will about him, but he's staying out of that one. On a side note, Clayton will be able to bankroll the deal, which is something some of the other bidders won't be able to do, or at least not at the lower interests that would allow them to builder it cheaper. ("Cheaper" of course being subjective.)Mike Donilahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18400768249723304044noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1613255034831961362.post-46948337489123007872011-06-27T08:01:57.014-07:002011-06-27T08:01:57.014-07:00Um, because Devon's bid won the process. Which...Um, because Devon's bid won the process. Which is typically how contractors get contracts around here.

Now, if you wanted to trundle down to the Purchasing Department and talk to the guy that handles that process (Hugh Holt - great guy, very informative), you can get a much better understanding of the particulars of said process.

Of course, that would likely mean doing so in person. Without the anonymity. Devon is Jim Clayton, Bob Talbott, and Raja Jurbran. Clayton has done a few good things in Blount County, but Talbott and Raja have done nothing for the people of Knox County and I am puzzled why the Burchett payoff to these guys. Help me understand.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1613255034831961362.post-11282627017186830662011-06-23T19:02:52.861-07:002011-06-23T19:02:52.861-07:00Yeah, I'm being told voicemails aren't pub...Yeah, I'm being told voicemails aren't public record around here. Those emails were sent to Broyles and pertained directly to the course of public business, so you can get those suckers easy.

Actually, Amy reads this rag. Howsabout sending those suckers out to some people, Amy? I could use a good laugh after this f*&^ing week. (I have GOT to know what constitutes a "threatening tone".)Brian Paonehttp://www.hubousa.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1613255034831961362.post-83341156458328386662011-06-23T12:46:24.771-07:002011-06-23T12:46:24.771-07:00Psst. Donila.
Emails to and from elected official...Psst. Donila.

Emails to and from elected officials are public record, homey. I'm not quite sure about voicemails, but it IS fun to submit FOIA requests for those. (Holler if you need help finding out how to do that in this particular town. It's a little different than you might have been used to elsewhere. But you probably already know what to do.)

LOVE that the Commission has finally taken constituent ideas and run with them in at least one instance - getting those rank-and-filers some more coin. Let's face it; we could pay 'em double and they'd still be getting screwed six ways to Sunday considering what we ask them to do. (Namely, putting up with the people we inexplicably elect.)

Oh, in other news - it's time to roll on that property tax charter amendment I mentioned to you previously. Email me before the weekend and I'll give you the sneak preview. (Even though you work for the Shed. Which is a pretty big deal, if you think about it.)

(You didn't wrap it up in time. Several people here were bored to death. I understand charges may be filed. You may want to hire a good attorney that's from around here.)Brian Paonehttp://www.hubousa.comnoreply@blogger.com
