Busler, who has lived in the Halls/Powell for more than 40 years,
is a deacon at Sharon Baptist Church and former long-time employee with Sears
Contract Sales. He also served eight years on the Metropolitan Planning
Commission.
At this point, he’ll face Bo Bennett in the May Republican
primary. Potential Republican candidates Danny Kirby, Rodney Lane and Steve
Rogers also picked up nominating petitions but haven’t yet turned them in.
(They’re do at noon Feb. 20.)
The general election is set for August.
