Rountree, a South Knoxville resident and a librarian at
Halls Elementary will face Pam Trainor (here's her website) in May’s non-partisan primary. At this
point, a couple other folks have picked up nominating petitions, but they’re
not expected to run for the seat.
Petitions are due at noon Feb. 20. (The county general election is set for August.)
Expect this particular race to focus closely on teacher and student needs, and Superintendent Jim McIntyre. Rountree is not a huge McIntyre supporter, and Trainor is.
