Hammond to grow hair for hospital

Knox County Commissioner Mike Hammond
Well, apparently there's this thing called “No Shave November.” I know that because the lovely ladies at the Knox County Commission's office just sent me a news thingy that says Commissioner Mike Hammond will participate in it.

This event, according to the release, was started by music executives in Nashville. I assume it was done because they were too sorry or hungover to shave.

The good thing, though, is raises money for the kids at St. Jude Children's Hospital.

“I have been involved with fundraising for St. Jude's for almost 30 years and I can think of no better organization to help,” Hammond said.

The commissioner is asking folks to donate during the month of November by going to the hospital's website and clicking on “No Shave November.”

Here, I made it easy for, click right smack here. To the commentators on the KNS website who spend most of your days complaining about the paper, the reporting, the whatever, because you still live in your mama's basement, go ahead and click twice. (It will make you feel even better about yourself.)

Hammond said in the release that he will be posting pictures on his Facebook page, showing his progress. No mention whether he's growing a beard or hair on the top of his head. Heh.

On a side note, I, too, will participate, if only because I am too lazy to shave. But, I also will donate a few bucks.
